Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's bout.
Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making massive paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As both boxers engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really proceeding.
